| Pacific salmon |
Five species of salmon (Chinook, coho, sockeye, pink, and chum) and two species of ocean-going "trout" (steelhead and cutthroat) live in North American rivers and streams. These species are in a different genus from the Atlantic salmon and brown trout. |
