Salmon spawn in the gravel of cold clear rivers and then spend several weeks to several years growing and developing in those rivers. If our rivers are clean and not impounded by impassable dams, then our salmon will thrive – they are an indicator of the health of our aquatic ecosystems.

SalmonAID is dedicated to protecting and restoring our salmon streams across the west coast. By so doing, we will improve water quality and supplies for ourselves and all the critters that live in the coastal streams and major rivers of the west coast.

Some of the rivers that wild Pacific salmon use for spawning are featured below. Our members (including commercial and sportfishing organizations, tribes, and conservation groups) work to protect these rivers and our salmon.
