Dine Out For Wild Salmon
Dine Out For Wild Salmon is October 13
Vote with your fork in favor of saving wild salmon populations at SalmonAid's first Dine Out for Wild Salmon. Leading Bay Area restaurants will feature special wild salmon dishes througout the evening, with proceeds benefiting the SalmonAid Foundation.
Participating Restaurants include:
For the home chef, Bi-Rite Market will donate 100% on the sale of raw, fresh salmon from its seafood counter on October 13, as well as prepared salmon items. From October 12-19, Cook! SF will donate 20% of the sale of its prepared wild salmon dish to SalmonAid. And throughout the month of October, ilovebluesea.com will donate 5% of its wild salmon orders to SalmonAid.Restaurant donations will range from 100% of the dish to a portion of the proceeds.
The funds raised will help SalmonAid educate the public about the importance of protecting wild salmon, which need our support if their populations are to rebound. Protecting wild salmon means saving the rivers and estuaries that they depend upon, while also refusing to eat farmed salmon or GE salmon. Farmed and GE salmon lack the health benefits that wild salmon are known for, and they both pose threats to the drastically impaired wild salmon populations that still exist as a viable and healthy source of food.
