The Wild & Scenic Environmental Film Festival comes to Salmon Month with a special Salmon Cinema & Storytelling Circle program. Featuring films that put the salmon crisis—and the opportunities for salmon restoration—in focus. In addition, indigenous leaders from California's Hoopa and Maidu tribes will offer their stories - both traditional salmon lore and tales of modern-day healing and collaboration for salmon recovery.


Film Selections Include
Films feature communities from Alaska fighting mining operations proposed in the headwaters of the world’s strongest salmon rivers to the movement that may trigger the largest dam removal project in history.
Salmon Storytellers Include
Don Ryberg, Tribal Chair of the Tsi-Akim Maidu of the Yuba River Watershed
Wendy and Merv George, Hoopa Tribe and longtime activists in the Un-Dam the Klamath movement.
Program will be followed by a cocktail reception in the Aquarium of the Bay.
